You are invited to attend a press party and filming of "The Nashville Connection" on Friday, June 22, from 2:30-5:00 PM or Saturday, June 23 from 6:30-9:00 PM Come and see the taping of a program and meet the hosts, Dave Brooks and Jason Blume for interviews after the show. This is their first time appearance in the Washington Area and we want you to be there!

"The Nashville Connection" comes to Fairfax Public Access Channel 10 TV this month. There will be six to eight pilot programs of 28 minutes that will feature top singer/songwriters Dave Brooks and Jason Blume in an interactive workshop about songwriting techniques. Brooks and Blume will address topics of the music industry, such as: writing lyrics, composing melodies, writing successful song structures, producing demos, becoming a true storyteller with your voice, and the psychology of music. Much of the program's content will be designed to benefit songwriters of all levels by incorporating studio audience participation and telephone call-ins.

Dave Brooks is currently one of the Nashville's top session recording artists. Known as the Anthony Robbins of style coaching, he has assisted hundreds of aspiring artists reach new levels in their crafts. His teachings of "style" and "the psychology of music" are unparalleled in the industry. Brooks was co-author of Singing Success, the most comprehensive vocal training CD program ever released, and has worked for television networks such as ABC, NBC, and CBS as a national commercial and jingle singer. Brooks is currently on the A-List of Nashville singers and works as a demo singer for country star Clint Black.

Jason Blume is one of the top #1 hit songwriters/artists in Nashville. He is one of the few songwriters to have singles listed on the pop, country, and R&B charts at the same time. He has written Grammy nominated songs for superstars such as the Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears, as well as country music starts Collin Raye, John Berry, and The Oakridge Boys. His songs have appeared on albums that have sold more than 45 million copies in the past two years, Blume's nationally acclaimed book, The Six Steps to Songwriting Success, will be discussed on "The Nashville Connection," as well.

Both Jason Blume and Dave Brooks will be back to the Baltimore/Washington area in September to hold a singer/songwriter workshop.

This series will be directed by well-known screenplay writer and director, McKay Daines. McKay is the writer, director and producer of an independent film, Dream Catcher, which begins shooting October 14 in Arizona. It is a romantic comedy set on a Native American reservation, and stars a completely Native cast. He is currently writing and in pre-production of Lakota Dawn, based on a novel by Janelle Taylor that has sold over 45 million copies worldwide. McKay is also the co-producer of Joan of Arc, a film by Ron Maxwell, the writer and director of the acclaimed Gettysburg. Joan of Arc will be finished in France in 2003.
