Metrodome Inks Deal to Distribute 'Return of the Ripper'

(February 4, 2009) UK based Metrodome Group has inked a deal to distribute Return of the Ripper, written by Jimmy Chunga and McKay Daines, who will also produce and direct. Other producers include Joseph Pia and Steven A. Lee. Pia says of the deal, “Cementing a creative and business relationship with Metrodome and their CEO Peter Urie is an exciting development that has grown out of a valued, longstanding friendship.” The film, about two paranormal amateur investigators who accidentally conjure up Jack the Ripper, will go into production this summer in the UK and the US. Vinnie Jones (Snatch, Gone in 60 Seconds) has signed on as one of the leads.

Metrodome has earned a reputation for acquiring and releasing quality independent films that challenge audiences and provoke critics including critically acclaimed films like Monster, Donnie Darko and the Academy Award winning The Counterfeiters.

McKay Daines’ romantic comedy Shooting Star, which he wrote, produced and directed, is scheduled for release May 12th by Peace Arch Entertainment.
