The
Nashville Connection six part series, which McKay Daines directed,
won a Telly Award at their 23rd annual 2002 event.
The Telly
Awards (www.telly.com) were founded
in 1980 to showcase and give recognition to outstanding non-network
and cable commercials and video industry, and has become one of the
most sought-after awards in TV. The competition was expanded several
years ago to include film and video productions. This year more than
11,000 applications were submitted in 143 categories. Past winners
include Sony Pictures, Walt Disney Studios, Universal Studios, the
History Channel, A&E, Kodak and Time-Life Video. All entries are
judged against a high standard of excellence. The Telly statuette
has even appeared on the set of many prime-time TV shows, such as
Thirtysomething; Murder, She Wrote; Newhart; News Radio; and most
recently in the movie What Women Want
